Permanent Dock - Original Concerns

The permanent dock pulled anchoring bolts right out of the flagstone & stone wall. This portion was unstable. Plus, it was a low point in relation to the wooden dock. Leveling the dock and lawn would be very desirable.



Drainage from splashing waves needs to be directed. Therefore, this French Drain was created to direct the water in a stable direction, toward that top-center block.

Simple patio block and foundation blocks were leveled, but hidden by gravel except for the top. This permits the finished layer of flagstone to maintain level. Gravel surrounding the block assures drainage.




Flagstones that were placed by Kurt over the decades became buried in the soft soil at the water’s edge. Digging deeper revealed new layers of flagstone.
